Bud Compton told me to look at your site. I have been helping my husband, Anthony George Compton, find his family line. He is the son and grandson of the George Herbert Comptons that are related to Frances/Frank Compton son of Hezekiah Compton.

LORI MONASMITH HAY, ROBERT MONASMITH (my dad - born San Francisco, CA), JAMES MONASMITH (born Jewell Co, KS), MARTIN VAN BUREN MONASMITH (born in IN, EPHRAIM MONASMITH (he was the last of our line to be born in PA), CHRISTIAN MONASMITH, CHRISTIAN MAHNESCHMIDT*, CONRAD MAHNENSCHMIDT, CHRISTIAN MAHNENSCHMIDT

According to one of my relatives, the 2nd "Christian" who you're related to spelled his surname MAHNESCHMIDT (without the n in the middle).

I came accross your excellent research on the Monosmith-Monismith-Moneysmith tree. My Grandmother was Virginia Monosmith, daughter of Charles Washington Monosmith, who was son of Moses Nixon Monosmith, son of Ephraim Monosmith, who was son of Christian Monosmith-Mahneschmidt. Thats where our research came up empty. Your site lets us go back a little further. Thank you!

Great information on the site. I believe that William Compton (brother of Hannah Marie) is my Great-Great-Great-Grandfather. Still looking to establish that link. Believe that his son George is my Great-Great-Grandfather.

You have made me so happy. My great greatgrandfather was Hezekiah Compton.
I have been researching Peter and David Compton's family. All of Peters family came out here and Henry Clay Compton, David's son came out.

I have tried to get in touch with Shelly Compton Hutchens to no avail.

I have all the obits of Peters children except Maria F.Compton who married Levi S. Wakefield and sort of dissapeared in the Dakota's. Shelley was working with this woman in SD, Ellen Bishop. She sent me the Obit of Peter from SD.

As a student of the pioneer settlers of the Caledonia-Middleville-Leighton areas of West Michigan, it is always great to see family histories of the area on the Web. I have only cursory examined your wonderful site, but found it to be very nicely done and informative. I truly love the old family stories that you told about the Stauffers.
